This online CLE course is for 2 credits (NJ). Part I is The Power of E=MC5 − A Distinct Formula for Negotiation Excellence. This unique formula (a take on Einstein’s Theory of Relativity E=MC2 but without the physics) is derived from Mr. Eichen’s nearly 30 years of negotiation experience handling a wide range of civil, traffic, and criminal matters. This part of the course focuses on the concepts behind E=MC5with emphasis on its 5 essential components: Commitment, Confidence, Courage, Compassion, and Calmness. Each component is discussed in detail including personal examples to demonstrate how mastering these components will exponentially improve your negotiation abilities.
Part II is Strategies for Negotiation B.R.A.V.E.R.Y. which expands on the concepts of E=MC5and recognizes that negotiating is an art and involves many nuances and subtleties. At the same time, it often involves risk and having the courage to put yourself on the line, hence the acronym B.R.A.V.E.R.Y. Important and practical concepts of Belief, Reasonableness, Accountability, Validation, Efficiency, Relationships, and Yielding are discussed in detail with strategies and tips provided that will dramatically increase your negotiating effectiveness.
This program has been approved by the Board on Continuing Legal Education of the Supreme Court of New Jersey for 2.0 hours of total CLE credit. Of these, 0.0 qualify as hours of credit for ethics/professionalism, and 0.0 qualify as hours of credit toward certification in civil trial law, criminal trial law, workers compensation law and/or matrimonial law.
